2nd Annual Gathering of People, Wind and Water
Main Street Square, Rapid City, SD
All Day - Free
The Gathering of People, Wind and Water is a Native art market and cultural celebration in the heart of downtown Rapid City. The Gathering showcases work by established and emerging Great Plains Native artists and promotes intercultural dialogue through demonstrations by tribal members of regalia making, storytelling, flute making, and performances of all types. The Gathering was inspired by The Sculpture Project: Passage of Wind and Water and artist Masayuki Nagase's themes of balance and transformation.
The art market runs from 10 am to 6 pm and will feature close to 40 visual artists. The performances go into the evening with a great line-up of contemporary and traditional performing artists.
